BCFGA Is Hiring Three Summer Students Through the Canada Summer Jobs Program

The BC Fruit Growers’ Association is pleased to announce that we are hiring three summer student positions through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. These roles offer students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agricultural policy, communications, marketing, outreach, and the BC tree fruit sector while supporting work that benefits growers and agricultural communities across the Okanagan, Similkameen, and Creston valleys.

Terms vary by position, generally lasting 8–10 weeks, with some flexibility depending on the role. Positions are based in Kelowna, with some work and travel in the Okanagan region depending on the position.The positions pay $20 per hour, with expected hours ranging from approximately 30–35 hours per week.

Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must meet Canada Summer Jobs Program requirements. Applicants must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number; and
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
