Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) - Mexican and Caribbean workers

For growers who demonstrate a shortage of workers (through advertising), temporary foreign workers from Mexico and the Caribbean are available.  A self-help information kit is available to BCFGA members, as well as a service ($50 for first worker and $10 per additional worker) for those growers who want additional help in filling out forms and follow-up with the government agencies.  Interested growers should contact Bunvir Nijjer at (250) 762-5226 ext. 4

NOTES:

The minimum wage is $16.05 for TFWs as of January 1, 2023 per hour plus 4% vacation pay based on the National Commodity List for tree fruits.
